Launched in 1989 at Kinkakuji Temple, OTOBUTAI is a one-night-only dedication concert bringing together internationally acclaimed artists under the theme of “East Meets West.” It has taken place at iconic heritage sites across Kyoto and Nara, including Kiyomizu-dera, Byodo-in, Nijo Castle, and Horyu-ji.

Now in its 38th year, the 2025 edition will be held at the historic Daigoji Temple in Kyoto — a sacred site with over 1,150 years of history — with Taeko Onuki set to perform.
